I had a short timeline for getting a new furnace installed prior to listing the home for sale and Rainier worked with my schedule by splitting up some crews to ensure my project would get done prior to the house coming on the market. We had a fantastic experience with Rainier. We had another company come out to check why our heat pump was not working. After a quick look at the system, we were essentially told that the cost of diagnosis and repair was high enough that it made more sense to have our heat pump replaced. We called Rainier for a second bid and opinion. One of their estimators, Steve, came out to give us a bid, went through the options with us, and ultimately took the time to bring their technician out to better diagnose the issue. As a result, we paid for a simple repair and are back up and running at minimal expense. We were very impressed with the honesty and quick service from Steve and Rainier. We will certainly use them again in the future, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

Out of all the bids we received for our heating and cooling needs Rainier bested them all. From the first interaction with the office to meeting and discussing options with Steve and the install crew showing up on time and doing a very professional job, we were really pleased with our decision. Steve was very attentive and flexible in trying to recommend the best solution for our home as well as trying to work to match or do better than the other bids we received where the company could. The install crew was awesome in getting the work done cleanly and safely, they were considerate of our home and needs with little ones & dogs running around. And at the end coaching me on how this new system will run and how to operate it. Both Steve and the install crew were awesome and accommodating in answering any questions that I had throughout the process.

I have had a great experience with Rainier Heating and Cooling. From the online quote request to talking with Mike and working with Steve on the quotes. Steve provided me quotes on 3 different systems by the end of the same day we met. The quotes were very detailed and pricing and any rebates were made very clear, unlike quotes I received from other companies. Steve answered all the questions I had. I went with the Bosch heat pump and air handler and they had me scheduled for the install is less than a week. The install crew did a great job removing the old system and installing the new and had the new system running by the end of the day. The system ran flawlessly through the cold weather we had in November and December. I waited until after the holidays to talk to them about a few minor issues. They promptly came out and took care of them. If you are looking for a new system or repair or maintenance of an existing one, Rainier Heating and Cooling are the ones to call. You won't be disappointed. I highly recommend them. They are truly down to earth and care about their customers.

"I couldn't be more pleased!"

I couldn't be more pleased with the decision to have Mike and his team at Rainier H & C install my heat pump, air handler and stat., and you would be doing yourself a disservice by not including them for any HVAC bids or services.  I think what separates Rainier from everyone else is their communication. Knowing very little about heat pumps, I had many questions before and after signing the contract. All the way up to the day of the installation, either Mike or Steve always got back to me promptly and always took the time to make sure my questions were answered. I have no doubt that the value they place on customer service will continue to be exemplary for future maintenance or service calls.

"A company that stands by its products and sees you through!"

Well, I had my Heat Pump installed around June of 2021. Since they installed it, the unit malfunctioned quite a few times. If machines were perfect we wouldn't need humans.

The unit would get a relatively low review but it's the humans at Rainier that has me leaving a 5 star review. The unit crapped out on me 6x within 6 months. Every time it crapped out Rainier's technician was there to fix it within a day or 2. He couldn't tell exactly what was wrong so he undertook quite a few troubleshooting techniques. He even brought the owner Mike in on one of the visits.

Last time they showed up was in Mar of 2022. The problem which was relatively consistent appears to be fixed as here we are in August and the AC unit has worked like a gem since .

In my opinion all man-made products will faulter. You should make sure you do business with the humans who stand by those products and see you through until it works.

Everyone I came in contact with from this company was excellent. Steve answered all my questions about what type of equipment to get. The techs who did the install gave me a great tutorial. They troubleshooted a tricky wiring situation expertly. The owner himself even came out afterwards when my system wasn’t keeping my place warm enough to troubleshoot. We got it all figured out and I love my new furnace with heat pump!

After speaking with two other companies who were not very interested in what I wanted, I found Rainier Heating and Cooling. Both Mike, the owner and Steve, the sales rep come from heat pump manufacturing backgrounds. Steve listened and was very knowledgable with his answers and recommendations. I decided on the latest Daikin Heat Pump which is very quite, efficient and doesn’t require backup heating for extremely cold days. I produced excess power in my first year of solar panels so I’m confident that they will cover my heating needs. I recently hired Rainier Heating & Cooling to install a new heat pump and indoor coil which hooked up to our existing Air Handler with Heat Strips.

My first interaction was with Steve, their sales rep who initially came out to give us the quote and he was an absolute rockstar!! He took the time to listen to my needs and concerns and did a great job of expressing them. After the initial quote, he was very communicative and I probably asked him a million different questions and assuaged any concerns I had about the investment I was considering. And to boot, Steve was very friendly and easy to get along with. Steve is a real asset!

Once I decided to move forward with the installation they got me on the schedule the very next week. The cost was reasonable and they even matched a cheaper quote from a competitor. The day of the install went great, the team was here early and got the job done quickly. The only hiccup was that the thermostat (the newer nest thermostat) was having issues properly detecting the wiring for the heat pump. After some troubleshooting they realized they need to regroup and come back the next day, leaving me with my electric backup heat to keep my house warm. This was acceptable to me, however, I got a call from Mike (the owner) a few minutes after they left and he offered to come over personally and help get the thermostat set up properly. He was at my door within 15 minutes and we walked through the setup process together and got it working in no time.

After the install, I realized that the heat pump was installed right under our window which caused it to fog up whenever it cycles off. I asked Mike if it would be possible to move it a couple feet away from the window and he offered to fix it free of charge. I was expecting to end up paying for labor and parts but Mike wanted to make sure the original job was done to my satisfaction and he took care of it.

I couldn't be more pleased with Rainier Heating & Cooling. If you're in need of HVAC services make sure to give them a call, you won't regret it!

The installers were professional, took the time to listen to what I wanted and got the job done perfectly. They even helped me submit my rebate paperwork to Tacoma power. Mike, Steve and the team at Rainier Heating & Cooling blew away my expectations when shopping for an AC unit for my AC ready home. Mike and Steve showed up for an estimate on time and answered all my questions. The quote they sent was fair but being they were the first ones I waited to get 3 others before making my decision. Steve was very patient with me as I continued to ask questions regarding two AC options I was considering. In the end I chose them for my AC installation.

I was scheduled out for the following month but the same day I accepted the quote and got on the schedule, Steve sent me a text that evening saying that they could do the installation the very next day and had one of the two units I was interested in available. The 3 installers showed up early and and got to work. They were very nice and did a fantastic job with the installation. They respected my home while they worked.

Mike has put together a great company with a fantastic team. I was focused more on quality than just price when selecting the right company. Rainier Heating & Cooling did a perfect job and offered the best price on the same unit as other companies I received quotes from. I plan on having them service my system annually and use them for anything else that comes up in the future for my HVAC system.
